It’s been over a month since we have received any news on Microsoft’s big exclusive Crackdown 3. We expected a big reveal at E3, but even that was a lackluster cinematic with a few momentary glimpses of gameplay scattered in. The newest trailer released this weekend during San Diego Comic Con does little to quell any worries you may have, but it at least reveals actor Terry Crews in game form.
If there is any actor who’s personality appropriately fits the role he is playing, Terry Crews and his explosive shouting goes hand in hand with Crackdown 3. We’ve seen no official gameplay from Microsoft yet, which is incredibly odd considering it is their biggest release of the year. The trailer below, courtesy of Gamespot, doesn’t show any actual gameplay either, but rather a 360 degree rotating view of Crews’ character, Command Jaxon.
Crackdown 3 is promised to be the biggest and most demanding game that Microsoft has released thus far. It was delayed from its original release window of 2016 into late this year in order to allow for proper development. The fully destructible world in multiplayer will be made possible by Havok, the physics engine which Microsoft acquired during the games’ development process. Most of this processing will be computed in Microsoft’s cloud, which unfortunately has not been fully shown off yet.
You can take a look at the brief trailer below, and Crackdown 3 releases November 7th, 2017 as an Xbox One X launch title.
