Yup, you read that correctly. Forza Horizon 3 will be getting content based on Final Fantasy XV beginning on August 1st. The Regalia vehicle from Final Fantasy XV will be provided as a free download to anyone who has played either game on Xbox One, Xbox One S or Windows 10.
All those who played Forza Horizon 3 will receive a code within the game’s messaging system, while Final Fantasy XV players will get a standard Xbox Live message containing a code for the download. Of course, not all of the Regalia’s features will be available in Forza Horizon 3, so don’t expect to go flying across the finish line any time soon. Unfortunately, we’ll be restricted to wheels on ground, because it would have been a pretty cool feature to be honest. I know it’s not practical, but it would still be cool.
Previous games have had their vehicles introduced into Forza, such as Fallout and the Warthog from Halo, but the Regalia is a much different animal due to its sheer size. Creating the vehicle was no easy task it seems as it took dozens of artists over three countries over 1,600 man hours to complete.
Final Fantasy XV Director Hajime Tabata spoke about how adding the Regalia was such a process
“Our ties with Forza run deeper,” Tabata said. “The reason being, one of the games that we looked to as reference when we were creating our road trip-game was Forza Horizon 2. That’s why this collaboration is quite unbelievable and a real honor for us.”
Get ready for your code either on Xbox Live or through the in game messaging system. If you don’t already, you can pick up the Xbox App on your phone, and download the code from there as soon as you get it. Take a look at the Regalia in action below.
