Well, it’s officially August and that means it’s time for the next update to Gears of War 4. There are a few substantial items involved, although admittedly it’s not as big as last update and the Inconceivable game mode. This month’s newest update brings a couple of new maps as well as some Summer bonus features to get you through those really hot days.
Two maps are included with the update, Forge Blitz and Canals. Forge Blitz is a smaller remake of the Forge map and is more focused on fast paced combat. Gone are the secondary entrances to the Control Room as well as the elbow behind the Incinerator, forcing combat into more focused areas with more direct fronts. Both exits from either spawn have also been tightened up to provide less open space and more opportunities to be aggressive.
Canals is focused more on snipers, as there are plenty of open air space and lines of sight. It makes its comeback in Gears of War 4 and the famous triple bridge has also made its return. As always, season pass holders get access first and the maps are available now. Everyone else will need to wait until next week, August 8th to get their hands on them.
The special first win of the day 100 bonus credit has been increased for the entire month, and each win is now worth 500. That comes out to be 12,400 extra credits as longas you win one match every day. Remember, it’s YOUR first win of the day, not overall first win. So, as long as you win at least one you’ll be in good shape. Let’s hope your teammates are in good shape as well.
