Star Wars fans have been waiting for Battlefront II for a while now, especially since it includes a single player campaign. With the release of the extended trailer last week showing some details about the campaign’s plot, we now know how long it will take to complete.
Producer David Robillard spoke to Press Start about the game, and noted that amount of time: We thought that around 5-7, maybe 8 hours is probably a good amount of time. We wanted to stay very driven towards the Star Wars fantasy that the players are going to experience and not have it be drawn out.”
The campaign will focus on a story regarding Empirical soldier Iden Versio. She’s a soldier for the Empire who must try and continue the tyrannical regime after the DeathStar II blows up. A timeline of up to eight hours sounds about right, considering it falls in line with most other FPS campaigns.
The game features some new cameos in the latest trailer, with Princess Leia and Maz Kanata being on display for the first time. The one trailer released previously shows some extended footage on star battles, and we broke that down as well. For the first time in Battlefront, there will also be special classes that will be deployed in battle. Players may use some skill points earned in fighting to unlock these once available.
Star Wars Battlefront II releases on November 17th, but those who pre-order it with EA Access can begin playing on November 9th. The game has come under fire recently for its pay to win scheme, forcing players to level up and unlock skills using loot boxes rather than standard progression.
