Assassin’s Creed Origins has so many things you can do and so many quests, that it’s easy to get lost. The sheer volume of quests and collectables can be confusing, but fortunately that’s why you have us. After all, we aim to please. Our Papyrus Puzzle Guide will help.
One of the collectable hunts you can go on is a series of papyrus puzzles. There are 25 of them in total, and each one will provide legendary gear and loot along with XP and coins. You don’t get anything special for completing them all, but rather each one provides its own, individual reward. You will have to find the papyrus first, followed by scouting out the location it indicates to retrieve your reward.
We give you the location as well as the name for each one below. If you are having trouble finding them once you are in the area, you can always use your eagle companion to reveal items in your area. If that’s too hard, remember to read your in-game controller settings. Pressing down the left analog stick brings up the objectives in your vicinity. The locations below should put pretty much right on the spot. In the event you are having some difficulty, however, those two tips should help you out.
All of the papyrus are listed at random, and you can retrieve them in any order you see fit. Just as our Bayek’s Promise quest guide, of course, some of the locations are occupied by more difficult enemies than others. Take this into account while playing, and you may want to try another location if one is proving too difficult for your character level.
Hope you enjoy!

These are all a lot easier than they look. The maps they are in are smaller sections of the larger map, and the locations are easy to find. In fact, this quest is much longer than it is hard. If you are having trouble finding them and you are in the right area, remember to use your left analog stick or eagle. As you can tell, they hold extremely true to their names. Nearly all of them are found by a lone tree, building, statue etc. as you can tell. Remember this if you find yourself lost. If something seems out of place, it’s most likely hiding something.
All of the gear you get from completing the scrolls should be about the same level as your character is at the time. If you don’t need it or decide you don’t want to waste the resources needed to upgrade it, simply dismantle it.
We hope this guide helps, and let us know how you’re enjoying AC: Origins so far.
