The Xbox One X has been out for a few weeks at this point, and it looks like it’s off to a strong start. US retailer GameStop has mentioned specifically that the system is doing well so far. The company recently reported on its performance during the latest financial quarter of 2017 (Q3), and a few comments were made about the Xbox One X.
Dan DeMatteo, the interim CFO had this to say:
“As we enter the fourth quarter, we are encouraged by the initial customer response to Microsoft’s Xbox One X.”
Dualshockers also got a few more quotes from other GameStop executives. Chief Financial Officer Robert Lloyd said that the console is in “high demand” from consumers. This was backed up by Chief Operating Officer Tony Bartel who mentioned that systems are leaving stores as soon as they enter them due to so many customers wanting to get their hands on one.
While the Xbox One X is definitely the most powerful console on the market, it’s also the most expensive. Even so, it doesn’t appear that this is a huge deterrent to customers. It will be interesting to see how the console progresses as time goes on.
Have you picked up a One X yet?
