“PS4 is the best!” “The Xbox One X is the most powerful system in the world – nothing can beat it!” . . . Lines like these are what I see all over gaming forums (albeit worded in much more hostile ways). Indeed, a lot of gaming fans are rather passionate about their favorite ‘side’ and get very argumentative with those on the ‘opposing side’.
But, it’s good to stop sometimes and remember that the great ‘console war’ of today exists mainly between the fanboys of each platform. On a professional level, these gaming companies do actually get along. As an example of this, look at what happened earlier this week at the PlayStation Awards.

4J Studios Co-Founder Paddy Burns (in the center of the image) walked up on the stage to receive an award from the president of Sony Interactive Entertainment, Atsushi Morita (in the right of the image). 4J Studios is one of the development teams behind Minecraft, which was purchased by Microsoft a few years ago. Since Minecraft is still a multiplatform game, and one of the most popular titles currently on the market, the award that was given by PlayStation is rather fitting. It was the Double Platinum Award, which was given due to the game selling over two million units in all of Asia, including Japan.
So, let this be a lesson to all the over-zealous fanboys out there. It’s great that you’re so passionate about gaming, but there’s no need to get all hot-and-bothered because people aren’t a big fan of your favorite system/company. Like Mr. Burns obviously showed, it’s okay to get along with those on the ‘other side’.
