Today on Twitter, Rockstar Games have announced that Red Dead Redemption 2, the hotly anticipated follow up to the 2010 western epic, will launch on October 26th, 2018.

Rockstar has released a lot of it’s big hits in May, including Red Dead Redemption in 2010. However, October is not completely unheard of for the studio. All three PS2 GTA games were released in October as well as Bully. GTA V was released in September back in 2013. Even Red Dead saw one of it’s greatest DLC pieces released in October with Undead Nightmare. While October might not have been what fans were expecting it does make sense for the company. It also begins shaping what this fall is going to look like in the video game landscape.

The big question now is, how does the rest of the year stack up. With Red Dead Redemption 2 finally putting a flag in the ground, we can probably expect more developers to start claiming release dates soon.

What do you think about the release date for Red Dead Redemption 2? Are you planning on picking it up on launch day? Let us know in the comments.
