Today saw the first of the E3 Press Conferences. The Electronic Arts Press Conference, which is part of the EA Play event, brought us a few surprises and more information on some of the games that we’re looking forward to over the next 9 months or so. We covered the news live as it happened but if you missed any of the big stories here they all are in just one place –
It’s the turn of the Battlefield franchise again this year. It’s returning to World War 2 for the first time in almost a decade and we got to see some of the epic action and destruction we can expect in the ‘Battlefield V Official Multiplayer Trailer’.
The big news though was that the game will have a Battle Royale mode that will be fully revealed later in the year.
Respawn Entertainment announce their Star Wars game
We’ve known for several years now that Respawn Entertainment, the geniuses behind the Titanfall games, was working on a Star Wars game. Well, Vince Zampella showed up to announce that the game would be called Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order. He went on to state that the game would launch late next year.
Unravel 2 gets announced and released
Unravel was a gorgeous little game that was full of heart and challenging puzzles. The game must have been quite successful as well because we now have a sequel. Yes, you read that right, the game was not just announced but has been released today as well.
EA Originals premiere Sea of Solitude
Unravel was the first EA Original and the next title that will be released under that moniker is Sea of Solitude. Like the tale of Yarnie, this is another gorgeous looking game that has a deeper meaning for you to discover.
EA Sports brings the trailers
The EA Sports segment of the Electronic Arts Press Conference may be one of the most derided segments of the show each year but you can’t deny how successful these games are. The big news is that FIFA 19 will feature the full UEFA Champions League campaign for the first time. Trailers were released, though, for both that game as well as Madden NFL 19 and NBA Live 19.
Anthem makes us want to stand up and sing
EA saved the best till last with some amazing footage of Bioware’s next sci-fi epic, Anthem. Three members of the team at Bioware, including their General Manager Casey Hudson, appeared on stage and talked about their plans for the game as well as what gamers can expect when the game launches. We also got a brand new cinematic trailer as well as a confirmed release date of 22nd February 2019.
That’s all the news from the Electronic Arts Press Conference. Keep an eye on Xbox Enthusiast as we continue to bring you all the news from E3 as it happens.
