The eight-generation has been quite a doozy for Microsoft. After stumbling out of the gate in 2013, the Xbox One has spent the majority of its life so far in ‘recovery mode’. Things are alright now, especially after the recent release of the Xbox One X, but the biggest criticism that the brand constantly faces is the lack of first-party releases. It looks like Xbox Head Phil Spencer is confident this will change soon.
Spencer recently took to Twitter to engage with some Xbox fans. One person asked him about the state of the company’s first-party studios. Spencer responded confidently that he’s happy with the current progress that the Xbox Team is making and confirmed that new first-party games are in production:
I now feel good about HW, XBL/srvc and OS. Work on 1P has started, games take time but I know all 4 areas have to be strong

It will be interesting to see exactly what the ‘green team’ is working on, but hopefully, it will be enough to keep the momentum rolling for the Xbox One family (and Windows 10).
