From a report in the SFGate, a man from Ceres, Calif. reportedly was confronted by his mother due to his yelling after playing a game. The argument led to 28-year-old Mathew Nicholson breaking his headset, grabbing a pistol, and then firing off a few warning shots before shooting his mother Lydia in the head. Lydia was transported to a hospital, later pronounced dead due to her injuries.
Mathew Nicholson had fled the house after shooting his mother, only to be later discovered at a relatives house where he was apprehended by police.
The report does lack any further details. Although, for me personally, the instance happened just a few hours north of me here in California. The city where the incident occurred is a small town somewhat near my hometown. Ceres has a population under 50,000. Much like the surrounding cities, most of the area is littered with agriculture and farming business.
At this time, there are no further details regarding the report. It is also unknown which game Nicholson was playing at the time.
